Name:
On MM: Lovenji,
On Twitch: Lovenfloofen,
Actual Name: Drew
Age:
27, pushing 28
Where are you from?
Not so United Kingdom
Past nicknames:
I've only gone by Lovenji, unless [D]Lovenji counts
Former clans? Why'd you leave them?
I have only been a part of Divinity's Slaves, mostly out of admiration for Divinity himself, who pulled me into Populous to begin with. However a combination of D's lackadaisical attitude and the joining of someone I have personal issues with (happy for Nici or Babo to disclose to the votes), I was no longer comfortable with D, or particularly enjoying my time in it.
Why do you want to join?
Of the good players I've gotten to know in Populous, Babo, Nici and Luke are always willing not only to talk with me, but give me tips, advice, and even play a game with me. It's the right kind of message to send to low skilled players with Pop's community as small as it is.
Is there anything that fascinates you in OP?
For the most part OP comes across to me as the most people-centric of the clans, Luke is the mastermind behind the academy, Nici's stream and message to me on twitch helped welcome me in, and Babo has been tuning into my stream and even carried me for a game or two. That you can have top end players, and still be committed to helping people and keeping Pop a positive experience is enough for me
Are you a forum poster?
I tend not to be, I'm not afraid of writing a forum post or two, (or formatting one!) but generally I assess topics with the question 'What can I actually add to this discussion', the answer is often not much, and in that event I try not to just shitpost and waste everyone's time.
Since when do you play populous?
I very first touched Populous in 1998 at a local game store, they had it set up as a demo. Since then I've always played SP over and over again blissfully unaware that MM even existed. Divinity and Impboy found my YouTube channel in 2019 and I played my first multiplayer game on 31/12/2019, and I still remember how much my hands were shaking!
Talk about your skills related to populous: (defending, attacking, shaman, troops, most likely, what's your playing style?):
A bit hard to assess when you're a noob, but of my skills I'm not awful in a light based shaman duel. As a player I prefer to play support, I'm happy to take the back foot and expand an ally whose attack skill outweighs my own, though I accept this can hold me back. My warrior attacks from ahead can be brutal, but I very rarely ever reach that position as I'm often outclassed. Regardless of whether or not I'm good at it, I love playing with the shaman, and nothing pleases me more watching Pop than to watch two good players go at a Shaman duel.
Are you applying because you want to have fun or want to improve with us? (Or both)
I am hoping that the positivity and noob-friendliness brought about by my streaming and FFAs can help fill the fun bracket and make me a good outward representative for OP as I often can entice other low level players into messing around in a silly map or two. But with such a wealth of knowledge in the OP clan's player base, the opportunity to improve would also be gladly appreciated
What sticks you to populous?
Love, passion, nostalgia. No game has ever filled the unique RTS void that Populous does, there's something about getting in and unleashing hell that's just so satisfying, and when you start watching it done well? It's a true thing of beauty. Also Preachers. Preachers are great.
Anything you want to add:
I have been learning a lot about SP campaign making, and PopScript as of recently, whilst not helpful in MM, I am hoping to put my name to my own single player campaign for people to enjoy. So my heart is well and truly in this community as I try to embrace all facets of it, even if my skill is lacklustre
How overpowered do you want to be?(Optional):
At least 67% overpowered. Perhaps 68% on a good day.
